At the Park

I felt like I was up for the challenge. Four kids, three playgrounds, midday sun, blue tarp light, and shooting manually didn't scare me. It probably helped that I hadn't stopped to think about it all! Yet this was my kind of shoot where I attempted to just capture them as they are having fun. And have fun we did! Want to join us next time? I'll even let you shoot in automatic. :-)

Awsome, I love the spotenaity of the shots! You can tell that you were really having fun. And great job on the exposure. Do you use lightroom for your editing?

Right now I use Bridge. I've thought about getting Lightroom, but having to import each picture sounds annoying. Its capabilities and ease of use might win me over some day though!

Great shots! I especially love the one of the two looking through the "bubble" in the playground!

Btw, I can now see your header, and your pic and info at the top are now clear and visible, and not overlapped. (I use Safari on my Mac, most of the time.)

These are great, especially considering the lighting circumstances! :) Wouldn't even have known :)

Hey Lydia,

I like these shots a lot but I see that every now and then your shallow DOF is not entirely saving your subjects from a busy background. Like this last shot, his head / arms are just kinda hard to define against the white blurred bars etc. in the background... Just something honest that came to mind!

Regarding your camera stuff: Sadly, you'll have to spend quite a bundle if you want a quality wide-angle lens, especially if you're getting interested in full-frame. Full-frame does have the stellar and affordable 17-40 f/4 though, and crop has the even better (in some respects) EF-S 10-22... Both are almost in your price range, and would last you many many years...

i think you did a beautiful job here :) They all look like they are just having such a great time and you really seemed to capture their personalities!
