Time Flies When You're Having Fun

When you were little, days seemed to stretch on forever. Your birthday was always months away and Christmas, well, it came once in a lifetime. Adults told you that time would fly as you got older, and you casually shrugged it off thinking "yeah, right." Well, I'm here to publicly say that they were right. Time flies.

It was just over a year ago that I sat out under the blue Virginia sky on freshly installed astro-turf that was covered by little, rubber pellets. Shaded by the girl sitting next to me, surrounded by thousands of fellow graduates, I took everything in and lived in the moment. The excitement at the cumulation of years of hard work was all on display for thousands to see. That day I walked across the platform, concentrating on not tripping and falling in front of everyone, and accepted my "diploma." Everything was over in minutes, but the experience wasn't complete until 10 months later when I held my real diploma in my hands. No more papers, finals, or late night due dates. I was done!

Life after college is a beautiful thing. It has challenges of its own; there are still late nights. Some filled with frustration trying to understand QuickBooks and all the paperwork that comes with running a business or yet another chapter and verse in my website tweaking addiction. Frankly, life can be hard, but I love it. From the workout pants and t-shirt days with messy hair to donning a dress of black for the next wedding. Each stage of life has been a gift from God. I really don't know what the future holds, but at this rate, it won't take long for me to get there!

My question is: why do all wedding photographers wear black to weddings? I mean, if they're trying to look inconspicuous they aren't really succeeding because nobody else wears black to weddings! Sorry, I just couldn't resist that! :D

@blair: If one of the shooters ends up being in the background of a picture, they don't stand out as much as they could wearing something else.
