One of the reasons why I have such a hard time posting isn't because I don't have anything to say or even, honestly, don't have enough time. Sometimes I sit down to post only to have feelings of inadequacy flood over me. "I can never write as interesting posts as _______...my life is so boring, why would anyone even check my blog after so long of a break...do my pictures just look like everyone else's?"
It's like 6th grade all over again where I'm the only one to not win a medal for athletic prowlness. Which I didn't even realize until someone tried to be nice by giving me a medal anyway!
So I save my scratching, close the window, and walk away. One more unfinished post in my drafts. I lose sight of who I am, what I'm meant to do, and why I do it. I let the pressures of the comparison game fall on my shoulders and sag beneath their weight. And another week goes by with no post.
So what do I do to stop this relentless cycle. I take these scribblings out of the draft box and post. It's already two weeks in the making, and that alone goes against the point of this post!
"When we struggle with insecurity, only one thing will set us free, and that is God’s truth.
The truth is that we don’t need to struggle to get from man what God
freely gives us: love, acceptance, approval, security, worth and value....As long as we have those, we have the most valuable things in the world." -Bianca

I think your blog and photography is beautiful Lydia. :) I know how you feel...don't give up!! You're great and have always been one of my biggest inspirations. :)
Hey Lydia! I've missed your posts! I also struggle with feeling like I don't blog as well as so-and-so, or my pictures aren't as good. BUT... if we all wrote as well as the next person, there wouldn't be much variety in the world would there? I really enjoy your blog. You are a very talented photographer, and I love your style!
Blessings!
That speaks exactly to my thoughts while writing the magazine copy...we are who He created us to be and who He's growing us to be and we need to be content knowing He's really all we need. Thanks!
I love your blog, Lydia! You are such an accomplished young woman in so many ways ~ especially in all the ways that really count.
I enjoyed reading about the Canada/USA engagement and travels from Vancouver to San Francisco. Brought back memories ~ 35 years ago next month!
Your blog is fabulous! Love those detailed shot you take!
what a beautiful ranunculus! just so you know, i enjoy reading all of your posts and i check your blog very frequently. more importantly, though, i (my mom and sister too, actually) really look up to you and your sisters as beautiful examples of godly young women. you are valued--probably more than you know!
His grace is sufficient =)
Thinking of you Lydia, and the fun times we've had brainstorming business stuff and just girl talk--projects, clothes, hair-dos...
Your words and ideas and sweet smile have been a blessing to me! And I couldn't have found anyone better to capture my wedding day!
Thank you all for your words of encouragement! They were an unexpected blessing!
